Day 11
Lisa writing today.
Today was a bit dull again. We did 21.5 miles with an elevation gain of 1916 feet. Part of our path today.
A river we crossed.
We see a lot of fruit trees along the way.
The villages have a sign at the entrance and one when leaving.

This is Spanish tortilla. It’s potato and egg omelet. Very yummy and filling for breakfast or second breakfast.

This is a pinxtos (pronounced pincho). Pinxtos are hand held food. A little sandwich with meat and cheese. Some have lettuce and tomato too
Grilled octopus for my lunch. It has 3% fat and 30 grams of protein for a 3.5 ounce serving. Keith had some chorizo swimming in oil. Not to my taste!
Grilled shrimp for part of our dinner. We weren’t really sure how to eat it. It had the shell on and not deveined, but we managed and they had lemon wipes for our hands.

We’ve enjoyed visiting with the owner of our hotel for the night, Manuel.

The omelette and sandwich looked very good! But not the octopus or shrimp.. I think Doug would like it though.. are you able to grab a piece of fruit from the trees? Enjoy reading about your day! Have a good night! D and L
ReplyDeleteThe food looks amazing. I am sure after 20+ miles a day it tastes pretty good. I could use a Pinxtos right about now. Love the pictures! David H.

Such interesting photos and comments; how did you cross the river. Love the little sheep; so much biblical imagery with sheep, and Jesus being our shepherd. I’m sure you are experiencing that , And possibly even meditating on some verses as you walk. May you find your loving shepherd giving you joy in the journey!!
ReplyDeleteFood looks amazing. I could get used to all of the octopus!
ReplyDeleteWow the food looks great. Couldn't do the walk but I could sure enjoy some of the food.
