Day 23
We started walking in the fog again today. It was brisk for the first hour or so, about 54 degrees. We walked a little faster to get warmed up. We saw a lot of people with coats and jackets on.
Our path today joined the the Frances route, so it was a much different experience. There were a lot more people, we could almost always see other people walking.
There were also a LOT of places to stop for refreshments and food. We had three Diet Coke and coffee stops by the time we had walked 10 miles! We also walked past several places we could have stopped.
We are walking further each day than most, and we walk faster than most others. (except Toren and Angelica. They are fast!) Only bicycles pass us, but we walk past most others.
This area is in the midst of a drought, and the paths we walked were very dusty today. I hope these people get rain, but after we walk past would be perfect for us!
We have walked 530 miles so far, in 23 days. That’s 23 miles per day on average.
We stayed in an apartment for tourists today, something like an air B&B. There is a clothes washing sink and clothes line set up outside. The owner and host Willy helped us do laundry by holding the hose, and spraying water as we washed. We had a brief conversation in my terrible Spanish. He was very gracious.

I find myself wanting to jump in these pictures and start walking! You are so close! Nice to see other people walking too! I think you need to bring back those shoes as a memento of your achievement! Bronze them! D and L 🍷🏃♀️🏃

ReplyDeleteAngelica and I love reading your blog. After walking these sections, it’s great to view the juxtaposition of perspective in your experience. You two are DEFINITELY an amazing couple and we truly value getting to know the both of you on a deeper level. Thanks for the wonderful memories.
