Day 15
It was mixed day. First 3 miles were city streets followed by about 2 miles of industrial, then a nice stretch of woods and farms, a bit of rain and more industrial area, and then another city, Avilés. We checked into our hotel, but it had been a relatively short day of 17 miles, so after lunch we walked out of town about 4 1/2 miles. We planned to call a taxi for the ride back to the city at the 5 mile point, but right then at 4 1/2 there was an empty taxi who was happy to take us back to out hotel. Tomorrow we will taxi back to that point, and reduce the distance we need to walk that day. The Camino provides, or as we prefer to say, the Lord provides!
We walked about 23 miles today, bringing our accumulated miles to 335 for this trip. Temps remain in the 70s, after a bit of rain over the past few days the forecasts are dry!
Lisa-This flame is from some kind of refinery in Gijón. It was a big flame, like none other that I’ve seen.
Lisa- This is the wooliest sheep we have seen. The rooster hanging out with it was cool too.
Lisa- The passion fruit flower and some unripe fruit
Lisa- Some ripe passion fruit
Lisa- Young eucalyptus trees have blue leaves. As the tree gets taller, the leaves get greener and longer.

Holá and another completed day in the books. Love the farm scape and villages the most.. Are there ripe figs you have found on the trees? That and some cheese flatbread would make me jubilant! Have a sweet eve. LB
ReplyDeleteNice you could get some miles for tomorrow in with the shorter day today and so cool how God provided the taxi at just the right time and place!
ReplyDeleteHave missed a number of days so loved catching up…such a wonderful experience you are having!! ❤️Thanks for letting us tag along!! I imagine myself as a little bird ( 😉😂) perched on top of your backpack taking in it all in!

Another great day of adventures! Love the signs you see on the way! D and L
ReplyDeleteInteresting how many different kinds of trail markers they seem to have. I'm guessing it probably isn't always too clear which way to go. :) ~Deb Dick
ReplyDeletePoor ewe! (sheep). Owner should shear the sheep each year before hot weather sets in. I always enjoyed the day that the sheep shearers came to shear our sheep - 150 or so. MRF
ReplyDeleteSometimes rain is a blessing on treks like this. Enjoy the day!
